Alex Rahill | Lead Pastor

Alex’s heartbeat is to see the Word and Spirit of God transform Metro Detroit, that heaven might come to earth through us in this place and transform America. Alex has a deep heart for church planting because it is the number one way that people far from God come to a new relationship with Jesus. Every person was made for the fullness of life that Jesus gives, and Alex orders his life around seeing that life to the full come here and now.

If Alex has a free night, he loves to write music with his friends, play a show with his friends, or play guitar at home, but most of all he loves spending time with his wife Amber.

Kate Buckner | Associate Pastor

Kate loves Jesus with all her heart and is passionate about serving people.  She loves deeply, faithfully and lavishly.  Kate feels called by God to build His church through making disciples, teaching his word, and leading/loving his people.  Kate is responsible for our Connection and GO ministries at Life Church Livonia.

In her free time Kate loves to hang out with friends, curl up and read a good book, and have good conversations.  Kate is passionate about creating safe and healthy community where people can experience life change in Christ.

Marrissa Parham | Worship Leader

Marrissa has a passion for singing light into the darkness, hope into the hurting, and longs to be part of creating a transformative worship movement that reminds us of who Jesus is and mobilizes us to respond in reverent obedience in our relationships, families, and neighborhoods. Worship that changes our corner of the world.

Marrissa believes that art, music, and creativity are incredible conduits for drawing people near to the heart of their Maker and in unity with one another. Over the years in study and serving in churches, Marrissa has cultivated her skills in creating worshipful environments through the visual arts and music, also having received a B.A. in Worship Arts Leadership, with a concentration in Video, from Spring Arbor University.

Marrissa may or may not be obsessed with coffee, cozy blankets, and snuggling up with a book. But her absolute favorite thing to do is spend time with her husband Sam: have deep talks, go on walks, eat good food, and make music with him.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

Life is a journey, and any journey can take you along some difficult paths. When challenges come about, it’s easy to find yourself overwhelmed.

We are here to help. While we can’t promise to give you all the answers, we want to introduce you to the One who can. No matter who you are or where you find yourself on your spiritual journey, we welcome you and your questions.

There is hope, and His name is Jesus Christ.

STORIES OF LIFE CHANGE

At Life Church Livonia, we’ve been able to witness firsthand how having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ can completely transform a person’s life.

You can view a few personal testimonies from those who have chosen to follow Him and how that’s affected their lives.

Kendra, Nate, Beth, Andrea’s stories are great examples of what God is doing in our church.

WHAT WE BELIEVE AS A CHURCH

Life Church Livonia is part of the Evangelical Covenant Church (ECC) denomination.

As a church, we believe the following:

About God: God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God.

About Jesus Christ: Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on the cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven and will return again someday to earth to reign as King.

About the Holy Spirit: The Holy Spirit is present in the world to make people aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. He gives every believer spiritual gifts when they are saved. As Christians, we seek to live under His control daily.

About the Bible: The Bible is God’s Word to us. It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs about living. Because it is inspired by God, it is truth and is without error.

About Human Beings: People are made in the image of God, to be like Him in character. People are the supreme object of God’s creation. Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all of us are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called “sin.” Sin separates us from God and causes many problems in our lives.

About Salvation: Salvation is God’s free gift to us, but we must accept it. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin’s penalty. When we turn from our self-ruled life and turn to Jesus in faith, we are saved. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith.

About Eternity: People were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life. Heaven and hell are real places of eternal existence.
